Born in the fifties in Le Mans from a family settled in the city for generations, I watched all the 24 hours races from 1957 to now as a passionate spectator, and as a pit Marshall from 1989 to 2009.

As a kid, I used to go around all the spots of the circuit - which was open to the public in its enterity at that time- with my bicycle and visit the garages where the competitors were preparing their racing cars. The access to the race actors was easy and we, Le Mans schoolboys, were deeply immersed in the race at a point where our memories have been definitely engraved with racing oil and fuel. Later, McQueen and the Solar came to le Mans and I had the opportunity to be employed as a static to play a member of the crowd. What a souvenir for a young guy ! I started then to lay down some of them on paper and never stopped since.

Trained as an engineer, I left Le Mans in the seventies to work all over the world in the energy business, but still painting during these years ; now back home, I opened a workshop in the medieval city and get paintings out of the cupboard to show them to the public. I have so many pictures in my memory that I am trying to share in painting ; my hope is that my paintings reflect the fact that they were seen by real eyes in the real time and that it can be felt.
